Ber­lin-based soft­ware wizards Bitwig prove that they’re not rest­ing on their lau­rels with this gen­er­ous up­date to their al­ready ex­cel­lent DAW with its in­ter­est­ing ‘up­grade plan’ model.

Im­age-Line FL Studio 12.5 | £64+ Re­view: FM294 FL Studio 12 has re­cently re­ceived one fi­nal ‘point’ up­date, adding im­prove­ments to the way it han­dles au­to­ma­tion. There’s a new ana­logue-style de­lay in­cluded too.

Pro­peller­head Rea­son 10 | €369 Rea­son is now ready to lock and load with VST plugin sup­port. Ver­sion 10 adds sev­eral new in­stru­ments and ef­fects to the vet­eran vir­tual studio, help­ing you max­imise cre­ativ­ity.

Cake­walk Sonar | £419 Re­view FM275 Cake­walk has re­cently been killed off by Gib­son, but Sonar has since been pur­chased by BandLab. Its fu­ture is un­known, but it can stay here un­til it’s of­fi­cially dead!

Ap­ple Logic Pro X | £139 Re­view FM270 Ver­sion 10 of the pop­u­lar DAW re­vamps the in­ter­face and in­tro­duces some long-awaited MIDI ef­fects plugs. And let’s not over­look that price – wow!
