HRAA Meeting with Rob Stokes – NSW Minister for Planning.
Recently Warren Waddell and I were able to lobby Rob Stokes directly regarding the proposed rezoning of the Hornsby Rural Area as well as the need to widen New Line Road.
Rob promised to help see things through at State level once Hornsby Council has submitted its request for changes to the Area.
Whilst the discussion regarding New Line Road was robust, we do think Rob appreciated that it was unfair to expect any developer to pay the entire cost for the project. However, it does present an opportunity for the Government to have a significant contribution to costs that it would be responsible for in any event.
HRAA is vigorously pursuing both agendas – Hornsby Rural Area Rezoning and the widening of New Line Road.
With the help of Matt Keane and Steve Russell in particular, we can see the strong possibility of a good outcome.
We will keep everyone abreast of the latest developments and ask that you talk to your neighbours and friends about these two major issues which impact our area and ask them to join HRAA if they have not already.
The more members we have, the greater the voice. Tony Jones Chairman Hornsby Rural Areas Association (HRAA) www.hraa.com.au
