The Bachelor Moves to Glenorie

Galston, Glenorie and Hills Rural News - - Front Page -

Glenorie is now on the national map as Network Ten's The Bachelor starts to film its next series in Abbot Place, Glenorie (just off Cattai Ridge Road). Locals may have noticed an increase in limousines and helicopters, as the stars come and go from the location and the filming commences.

There have been many comments on Facebook speculating what the impacts might be on our local community. Local retailers are hoping that the film crews, support people, photographers and Bachelor fans will use the services in our local shopping centre and RSL Club, giving an increase in sales. The last few series were filmed at Hunters Hill and the local residents were reported to be pleased it moved to another location due to noise and local disruptions. However, Hunters Hill is a very different location to Glenorie. It is hoped that due to the rural nature, local residents will see little disruption from the filming of the next series. Those living on Abbot Place will undoubtedly see an increase in traffic, photographers and sightseers. Already the number of L drivers appears to have increased, as its great excuse for locals to have a “sticky beak”!
