Du­ral Bowlers Plan Big Birth­day Cel­e­bra­tions

The Ladies’ pen­nant com­pe­ti­tion is over and a more re­laxed feel­ing briefly per­vades the bowlers at the Du­ral Coun­try Club be­fore the Ma­jor Sin­gles Cham­pi­onship get started. Mean­while, plans are un­der­way for the BOWLERS FIFTIETH BIRTH­DAY cel­e­bra­tions to be held on AU­GUST 12TH AND 13TH.

On the Fri­day, Au­gust 12th a SU­PER SIX BOWLS CAR­NI­VAL will take place with triples teams vy­ing for the big prize pool to be won af­ter six games. This type of car­ni­val is pop­u­lar as each team gets to play a short game against six other teams which gives more teams a chance of win­ning a prize.

On the Satur­day, Au­gust 13th for­mer Du­ral bowlers are ex­pected to come from far and near at­tend a LUN­CHEON at the Coun­try Club. Any read­ers know­ing the where­abouts of any re­tired bowlers please con­tact them or the bowlers Ju­dith (9489 3739) or Gor­don (9639 2742) so they can ob­tain de­tails of the day.

Mean­while three Du­ral ladies were in a team of Ed­u­ca­tion Bowlers who were vic­to­ri­ous at the Wind­sor BC Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Bowl­ing Day. Wendy Her­bert from West­ern Sub­urbs joined Leone Lesslie, Liz Whe­lan and Robin David­son to win a very im­pres­sive tro­phy.
