News from Wisemans Ferry Community Men’s Shed

Galston, Glenorie and Hills Rural News - - News -

What a beautiful day Mother Nature turned on for us all on Easter Saturday which was perfect for our market stalls. There was a generous crowd about the town and markets and we had a good day. We have a few orders to fill and some more stock to replenish. The next stall will be at the Bowling Club on the June long weekend, which is just around the corner. This is always a bonser weekend with plenty of activity happening in the Wisemans Ferry Village so mark it down in your diaries, Monday 13 June and be sure to pop down to see us.

We have had a reply from Council in regards to our Construction Certificate and we now have some more conditions to meet before approval. Some of these are easily met, while others are quite challenging. There is certainly a lot to consider when trying to build a shed and we are rapidly learning about the environment.

We are going to need a lot of community help once construction starts so any plumbers, electricians, concreters, builders, landscapers who could donate any materials, time and expertise, please contact us. We would love to hear from you. We have a government grant to purchase the actual shed materials but then our funds are thin. We are working hard on trying to raise what we need, but your help will make a huge difference. For those companies that can help us out, we will be displaying your work in the heart of Wisemans Ferry for all to see and will proudly display your company details on a plaque on the shed, visible to all.

Meanwhile, we are still operating from our temporary site, each Tuesday 9.30am – 3.30pm at 2811 River Road, Wisemans Ferry. You can contact us by phone 0448833781 (Adrian) 0410442275 (Robin Hitchcock) or email wfcms2775@gmail.com.
