Native Beekeeping Scientist to Visit Library
Beekeeping is quickly becoming a booming hobby in Australia, and now you can learn more about it from ex- CSIRO scientist Tim Heard at Hornsby Library. Tim will be visiting the library for an author talk on Saturday 7 May to discuss his book The Australian Native Bee Book.
The entomologist is passionate about native bees and outlines the many environmental, commercial and recreational reasons why bee-keeping has become a popular hobby.
His talk will give an insight into native stingless bees as pollinators and their conservation, as well as giving information on keeping hives in suburban gardens.
