With an in­crease in mem­ber­ship, Term 1 has seen the cre­ation of 2 units at Gal­ston. Ju­nior Guides is for girls aged 6-10 and Guides is for 10-14 year olds.

Both units met for a games night and a spe­cial cer­e­mony where 8 new girls made their Prom­ise, of­fi­cially join­ing Girl Guides. Mr Gary Man­gan, Branch Man­ager of Gal­ston & District Com­mu­nity Bank, was pre­sented with a cer­tifi­cate of ap­pre­ci­a­tion in recog­ni­tion of Bendigo Bank’s do­na­tion to­wards the up­grade of the kitchen in the Guide hall.

This term, Ju­nior Guides have en­joyed cook­ing, craft work and bush walk­ing. The Guides have been camp­ing, swimming and earn­ing badges. The Guides also at­tended the Gal­ston AN­ZAC ser­vice and met Steve Rus­sell (Mayor of Hornsby), Ju­lian Leeser (Lib­eral Can­di­date for Berowra) and Matt Kean (MP for Hornsby).

Girl Guides have lots of fun and we wel­come new mem­bers. Both units meet on a Thurs­day - Ju­nior Guides (aged 6-10) meet 4.30-6pm and Guides (aged 10-14) meet 6-7.30pm. Please con­tact Mary 0423 353644 for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion and to ar­range your daugh­ter’s free visit.
