Hillside Public School
This term is shaping up to be a fun filled, exciting and educational 10 weeks.
Hillside marched at the Glenorie Anzac Service and everyone who attended was moved by the service.
Hillside Dance Ensemble auditioned last Monday and was successful and will now compete in the Sydney North Dance Festival later in the year. Congratulations to all of the dancers and their teacher Mel.
Knitting Club has begun again every Wednesday morning at 8.20am The children knit squares to be sewn together to make blankets to be given to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. It is great to see so many children and mums coming to knit and have a chat.
Last Thursday, we were visited by Katrina from Start Smart Financial Literacy. These very informative sessions educated the children in a range of practical shopping exercises and how their spending is influenced as well as setting and saving for realistic financial goals. The children were totally captivated and engaged.
Thursday was also the K-4 Mummy Day Spa. Mums, grandmas, aunts and friends were treated to 2 hours of pampering. Pamper stations included facials, pedicures, manicures, massage, hairstyling, photo booth and hors d’oeuvres. The children were wonderful beauty therapists and their clients left Mummy Day Spa looking even more beautiful and relaxed.
Last Friday Hillside attended the cross country at Middle Dural Public School along with Annangrove Public. Everyone ran very well and congratulations to those who have made it to zone next Wednesday –Rubee, Ava, Madison, Arabella, Tarj, Tjannaya, Harrison, Joshua, Samuel, Lucas and Patrick.
