Galston Garden Club

Galston, Glenorie and Hills Rural News - - News -

We had another interesting night at the Galston Garden Club in May and it was lovely to see so many people turning up so regularly to the meetings. We are a lively, friendly club with people willing to share their gardening knowledge, their highs as well as their lows. Great tips are shared to help you with growing plants, identifying weeds, and knowing what that unusual plant in your garden is. It is a great way to enjoy the company and friendship of people who have a love of gardening whether on acres or a smaller block. Garden Club meets on the 2nd Weds of the month at the Galston Community Centre 37 Arcadia Rd., Galston 8.00pm, new members are warmly welcomed.

Our guest speaker for May was Roslyn French who grows Proteas commercially. Many of you will have seen or bought one of her beautiful bouquets at the stall on the corner of Old Northern Rd and Wylds Rd Arcadia. Roslyn spoke on the propagation, care and uniqueness of proteas. We all learnt not to pamper these hardy drought tolerant plants which as cut flowers last an extended period.
