Galston, Glenorie and Hills Rural News - - Community News History -

It is sit­u­ated within the grounds of Gal­ston High School. It was built in about 1845 by James Wad­dell, who worked the twenty acre cit­rus or­chard that sur­rounded it. His son, James II, was born there and lived all his long life at this cot­tage. He never mar­ried and died in 1969, aged 91, when the prop­erty was ac­quire by the Dept. of Ed­u­ca­tion. A lo­cal com­mit­tee raised money to have it re­stored.
