I have been wondering lately why sports games such as the WWE 2K series have been concentrating on a simulation gameplay style. With WWE it is sports entertainment where anything could happen, but in the game it feels such a chore to play. THQ concentrated on the arcade style of play, which made the game so much fun. Would you like to see more arcade-style wrestling games? Luke Thompson, email We do often find it a little strange that the wrestling in those games is treated relatively realistically, when the thing it’s simulating isn’t real in the first place. We’d love to see a WWE game that really embraces the scripted nature of it all – make it more about entertaining the crowd and playing up your character than detailed grappling systems. But then, would that be breaking kayfabe?
