The 60 Second Pitch

Driving in the dark with Jon Dadley

Games Master - - Indiemaster -

The line I generally use is that it’s like Euro Truck Simulator 2 crossed with Jalopy. It’s all about the experience of driving – that feeling you get sometimes when you’ve been driving for hours and you’ve almost forgotten about the actual process because you were so zoned out and hypnotised by it. That’s something that those two games tend to have quite a lot – Euro Truck especially has that hypnotic rhythm to it, so we’re trying to create a game that’s got a similar kind of feeling. In terms of actual gameplay, you’re an overnight courier. You’re meeting characters, you’re finding out their stories, and you’re picking up packages for them in this open world. Then you’re going and delivering those packages around this world. Everything’s all from the perspective of the driver. There’s a dispatcher who sends these jobs to you, you choose which one you want to go to and it’ll tell you the details about the job. And then you’ll drive to that destination.
