14th–15th Open Gar­dens West Coast

10am–4pm. 11 Arthur Rd, Goose­berry Hill and 53 Temby Ave, Kala­munda. $6 per gar­den. Meet the own­ers at two gar­dens fea­tur­ing a va­ri­ety of na­tives to at­tract wildlife, in­ter­spersed with cli­mate-tol­er­ant exotics, veg­eta­bles and more. 14th–15th Spring Arts & Crafts Show

15th Pin­jarra Gar­den­ing Day

10am–3pm. Eden­vale Homestead, Ge­orge St, Pin­jarra. 0409 686 015. Free. En­joy a dis­cus­sion with gar­den­ing writer Deryn Thorpe on ‘Com­pan­ion plant­ing for roses’, a hang­ing bas­ket com­pe­ti­tion, stalls and re­fresh­ments at this his­toric homestead.

21st–22nd Amanda’s Gar­den

10am–4.30pm. Cnr Mar­garet & Mati­son St, South­ern River. (08) 9398 7275. $5. An­nual fete set in a mass rose dis­play in a tran­quil set­ting of pa­per­barks, planted in mem­ory of 18-year-old meningo­coc­cal vic­tim Amanda Young.

21st–22nd Fer­gu­son Val­ley Open Gar­dens

10am–4pm. Fer­gu­son Val­ley Vis­i­tor Cen­tre, 5 Fer­gu­son Rd, Dar­danup. (08) 9728 3138. Gold coin to $5 per gar­den. Join the in­au­gu­ral trail around beau­ti­ful Fer­gu­son Val­ley, in­clud­ing struc­tured, ram­bling, small cot­tage and sculp­ture gar­dens. Owner talks and re­fresh­ments at some gar­dens.

21st–22nd, 28th–29th Al­bany Com­mu­nity Spring Gar­den Fes­ti­val

10am–4pm. Al­bany Vis­i­tors Cen­tre, Old Rail­way Sta­tion, Proudlove Pde, Al­bany. (08) 9844 8431. $5 per gar­den. Visit nine gar­dens in and around Al­bany, from a large river­side farm and park­land gar­den to or­ganic, cot­tage and tra­di­tional home gar­dens. View a bon­sai dis­play, and browse stalls at dif­fer­ent gar­dens. All pro­ceeds to the Com­mu­nity Hospice.
