Gatton Star - - NEWS -

CHRISTIANS from across the Lockyer Valley gathered at Lake Apex at dawn on Easter Sunday to commemorate the holiest day in the church calendar.

The service, organised by the Gatton Baptist Church, was attended by around 70 people.

Baptist Pastor, Doug Beahan spoke on Sunrise – A Fresh Start .

Worshippers were treated to breakfast after the service which was catered by the Salvation Army.

Pastor Doug was encouraged and heartened by the turnout and was entertaining requests to make the service an annual event.

“We originally planned this for the Baptist Church, but when other churches heard, people expressed a desire to join in, which is what community is all about,” Pastor Doug said.

The worshippers enjoyed a simple service of singing, prayer and listening to Pastor Doug’s message.

Over breakfast they got an opportunity to mingle with churchgoers from various parts of the Lockyer Valley.
