The centenary of Toogoolawah Homestead celebrated
KEY descendants of Archibald Munro from south-east Queensland as well as a number of long-term local families came together recently to celebrate the centenary of the construction of Inverness Homestead in Toogoolawah.
The beautiful home was constructed in 1917 for the Munro family who lived there for many years.
Archibald Munro was managing director of the Condensery for Nestle.
Other members of his family also worked for Nestle in Melbourne in later years.
The property is now owned by the Stevenson family who have spent considerable time, effort and money to restore and maintain the home.
The Stevensons held a special afternoon tea to mark the event.
Images of this significant property and others will be a part of a new exhibition due to open at the Toogoolawah History Museum on May 13, 2017.
LONG HISTORY: Munro descendants Jane Taylor, Neil Munro and Janet Williams at the celebration.
