Na­tional Youth Week a suc­cess in Som­er­set

HUN­DREDS of youth and chil­dren par­tic­i­pated in an ar­ray of ac­tiv­i­ties for Youth Week in the Som­er­set re­gion, mak­ing the event a huge suc­cess.

The events cul­mi­nated with the Som­er­set Skate Cham­pi­onships at the Esk Skate Park on Sun­day, April 9. Over 70 peo­ple at­tended the cham­pi­onships or­gan­ised by Som­er­set Re­gional Coun­cil and more than 40 peo­ple par­tic­i­pated in the com­pe­ti­tions.

Win­ners of the open skate­board­ing: 1. Jaiden Wicks, 2. Delong Lin, 3. Quade Style.

Un­der-16 skate­board­ing: 1. Pa­trick Gard­ner, 2. Drew Humphris, 3. Darby Martin.

Un­der-12 skate­board­ing: 1. Blake Pear­son, 2. Faron Sabine, 3. Jac­ques Richard.

BMX: 1. Austin Rum­be­low,

2. Darby Martin, 3. Zachary Luder.

Se­nior scooter: 1. Jacob Hayes, 2. Lochy Par­tridge, 3. Kyle We­ber.

Ju­nior scooter: 1. Cody O’keefe, 2. Do­minic O’keefe,

3. Jas­pah East­well. Win­ners shared prizes in­clud­ing skate­boards, shoe vouch­ers, hats, shirts etc.


TRICKY: More than 40 youths com­peted in the Som­er­set Skate Cham­pi­onships dur­ing Na­tional Youth Week.
