New-look Salvos Family Store to officially open
THE NEWLY revamped Salvation Army Family Stores’ official grand opening is here.
Head to the new-look store tomorrow at 9am for a free doughnut, coffee and to bag a bargain, all while supporting the crucial services and programs offered to people in need within the communities of the region.
Lockyer Salvation Army Captain Craig Harlum said the family store was well overdue for a revamp, after the original store opened 13 years ago on the other end of Railway St in Gatton.
“It worked – but we are so happy because this shop has air-conditioning – there’s a better layout and 30 percent more retail space,” Cpt Harlum said
“And there’s even better quality clothing at the same prices.
“We are still looking for more volunteers for the new store, anyone who is interested needs to come in and see the manager Diane.”
Money made from the Salvation Army Family Store goes back into vital programs and projects run in the community by the Lockyer valley Salvation Army.
“We help with many local children’s projects, counselling, emergency relief, drug and alcohol treatment and homelessness services, and much more,” Cpt Harlum said.
“Remember to grab the voucher from inside this paper to spend $10 and receive a free item of clothing to the value of $5 when you present it in store. The voucher is valid until next Thursday, September 14.”
The new Salvation Army Family Store is located at 5 Railway St, Gatton.
