Community is king for Dodts

Gatton Star - - NEWS -

MORE than two decades in the business has taught the Dodts at Irrigear Lowood that when it comes to running a small business, your community is king.

Garry and Robyn Dodt set up shop as Lowood Irrigation Pty Ltd in April 1994 and have continued trading as a family-owned business with son Ashley Dodt and daughter Carly Bichel, bringing in a slew of industry awards and accolades over the years.

Ashley believed their success to come from the personal connection the team has with many of their customers.

“We’re definitely proud to see all the effort we put in recognised nationally and the community can feel that expertise and knowledge,” he said.

“We do have that personal relationship with the customers; we know who they are when they come in and we call them by name.

“Often we know what they

want even though they might not know what they want.”

This connection is kept alive through the Dodts’ contributions to various causes, including cancer research and the Lowood Rugby Club.

“It’s our way of giving back and helping the people who make up our community,” Carly said.

“Of course, cancer does affect a lot of people’s lives, so that’s always something we try to commit to raising money for.”
