Looking inward

Gatton Star - - YOUR SAY -

GOVERNMENTS at all levels in Australia must pull their horns in.

Get real with the distribution of extorted tax and rate moneys of which they are charged with control and distribution.

All levels of government and municipal councils have perfected the funds usage to a level of real largess.

No longer do we, the providers of this pool of money, observe a level of real understanding of these elected politicians and councillors, of restraint.

They are too self-serving, ‘party’ orientated, indulgent to a point.

Too many perks, self-granted, stating they are elected with a ‘mandate’ to grant and surround themselves with a ‘jumped up’ lifestyle.

We, the providers for funding for this largess, are fed up with being treated like the proverbial mushrooms and squeezed like a long and empty tube of toothpaste.

We now demand that all decisions by these bodies must be toward us, Australian members’, definite, specific benefit!

Cut out the worldly grandstanding, throwing exorbitant amounts of funds worldwide that are badly needed for ensuring sufficient infrastructural facilities far into our future.

Many more water storage facilities, upgraded educational facilities, health treatment and concentrate on strengthening the advancement on improvement of food supplies sufficient for Australians sustainment.

All mentioned levels of governance must get real.

No more squandering of hard-won funding wasted on countries controlled by corruption and had thousands of years to have improved their lot and dug themselves into a world of hurt.

These countries must solve their own problems.

We Australians must look after our own. — B. Fowke, Regency Downs
