Showcase takes the big stage

Gatton Star - - NEWS -

IN 1978 ALEXIS Fitzgerald, with her gift of music, had a dream to start a choir in the Brisbane Valley.

It began with six women singing around the piano in her Esk lounge room.

Forty years later her SATB Esk Community Choir has attracted members from far and wide. Ms Fitzgerald has seen a passing parade of more than 100 members who have known the benefits and joys of choral singing with her choir.

It is a choir whose “service in song” has garnered a reputation as a choir in demand, with many performances locally, interstate and overseas, and on many occasions lured other choirs and orchestras to share the stage in spectacular choral collaborations.

On October 14, as part of the choir’s 40th anniversary celebrations, Ms Fitzgerald is again proud to welcome back four of these choirs along with the amazing Davonski Concert Orchestra for another Gala Choral Spectacular.

It will be held at Somerset Civic Centre, Esk, at 2.30pm.

Tickets are available at the door.
