WITH some handy lo­cal rain­fall on the week­end, a re­duced yard­ing of cat­tle were on of­fer at Star­iha Auc­tions Wood­ford cat­tle sale on Mon­day.

The mar­ket was stronger, with younger steers show­ing the most im­prove­ment.

Hollyan­gle Pty Ltd, Neu­rum, sold lines of drought­mas­ter steers for $900-$990 and 2 tooth steers for $1260.

Main Creek Pastoral, Stan­more, sold 6-8 week old santa calves, with males mak­ing $360 and heifers $305.

Ro­seville Part­ners, Kil­coy, sold Mur­ray Grey steer calves for $510.

Gillingham Part­ner­ship, Mt Kil­coy, sold a line of santa cross steer calves for $590-$740.

Robert Vogler, Kil­coy, sold bran­gus steers, 7-8 months, for $840.

Michael Christie, Stan­more, sold char­bray steers, 7 months, for $725.

Aussie Pet Re­sort, Wood­ford, sold drought­mas­ter heifers for $620, steers for $600 and cows to $1200.

The Wood­ford sale starts at 10am on Mon­day at Archer Street, Wood­ford.
