Beastie Black Brabus Benz
The car can accelerate from rest to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds, to 200km/h in 9.8 seconds
IT’S the most powerful production Benz of all time, but that didn’t stop the boys at Brabus from turning up the wick.
Equipped with T65 RS tuning the already high-performance MercedesBenz SL65 Black delivers a staggering 588kW of power.
Weighing in at 1795kg, the car can accelerate from rest to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds, to 200km/h in 9.8 seconds and on to a top speed of more than 330km/h.
This particular car is finished in a special Brabus matte black, with custom-designed personalised logos on the illuminated scuff plates and the speedometer.
The T65 RS 6.0-litre V12 engine delivers 588kW of power at 5500rpm and an even more impressive 1420Nm of peak torque from a low 2100rpm, but peak torque is limited electronically to 1100Nm.
A standard SL65 AMG Black produces 493kW and 1000Nm of torque.
The tuning kit includes a Brabus hi-tech twin turbo system that includes two special exhaust manifolds with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers.
Four generously-sized intercoolers are placed beneath the space created by the Brabus carbon-fibre hood scoop.
The special Brabus stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts was specifically designed for the Black Series power upgrade.
The engine electronics have been reprogrammed with special mapping for injection and ignition co-ordinate the perfect interaction of all highperformance components and at the same time ensure that the engine meets strict EURO IV emission limits.
The hi-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain are supplied by technology partner ARAL.
Apart from the mechanical upgrades to achieve the extra output the Brabus upholstery shop creates a special sporty and luxurious interior to customers exact specifications, down to the last detail.
All components are available for any Mercedes SL 65 AMG Black Series.
