Hatching a Megane with punch
RENAULT has launched a revamped Megane hatch and wagon range with the new, prominent Renault grille logo.
The look features across the entire Megane range.
The Megane range is now available with an entry-level petrol turbo 1.2-litre fourcylinder engine, code named TCe 130 coupled with a sixspeed efficient dual-clutch automatic transmission. It was previously only available with a manual transmission and is good for 97kW/205Nm.
The fuel economy rates 5.6 litres/100km.
A 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine is now available in the Megane specified to the higher GT level.
The dCi 110 (hp) engine fitted in the Megane diesel variants has a fuel consumption figure of 4.5-litres/100km on the combined cycle. This engine produces 81kW/240 Nm and technology improvements include the introduction of Renault’s innovative R-Link entertainment system.
Available on various specifications across the range, R-Link includes an 18cm touchscreen display and intuitive voice commands and a home page that can be personalised for safe, simple access to key functions without the driver having to take their eyes off the road.
A GT220 hatch version of the Megane GT220 Sport Wagon is also now available with a detuned version of the potent 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine in the Megane RS265. This version has an output of 220hp (or 162 kW) and 340 Nm and Stop & Start technology ensures 7.3-litres/100km.
