THE 2015 LZ Ford Focus range arrives i n October with EcoBoost engine technology, improved safety and a host of key visual and feature upgrades.

Standard across the LZ Focus range is a new, fuel-efficient 1.5litre EcoBoost engine with autostop start engine technology. The 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine develops 132kW and 240 Nm and will be mated to either a sixspeed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

The automatic transmission is standard on the Trend sedan and Titanium hatch and sedan and optional on the Trend hatch and Sport hatch.

The 2015 LZ Focus range del i v e r s 7 kW more power a nd 38Nm more torque than the larger capacity 2.0-litre Duratec engine it replaces, as well as producing a combined fuel efficiency figure of 5.8 litres/100km and 6.4 litres/100km, depending on the model.

Ford says its EcoBoost engines are recognised globally for delivering fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance. Complementing the EcoBoost technology is a new look and an enhanced list of standard features — l i ke voice- activated SYNC2 connectivity with eight- i nch high- resolution colour screen, satellite navigation and rearview camera.

The 2015 range also offers Ford’s MyKey system as well as key driver assistance technology t hat has been s t andardised across select models.

MyKey all ows parents t o program a key that l i mits top speed, reduce maximum radio volume, disables the radio until the seatbelts are fastened and prevents deactivation of t he driver assistance and safety technologies. It works by recognising different keys and adjusting the vehicle settings according to the owner’s requirements.

MyKey is available on the Fiesta, Fiesta ST, Focus ST, Mondeo range and the soon-to-bereleased Mustang.
