MORE than 60 years af­ter the launch of the orig­i­nal Alfa Romeo Gi­uli­etta Sprint — name­plate is making a come­back.

lo­cal line-up, offering buy­ers a mod­ern take on an Ital­ian clas­sic. Like the orig­i­nal Gi­uli­etta Sprint, the

version is also pow­ered by en­gine of less than 1400cc in ca­pac­ity, but for 2015 it is equipped with Mul­tiAir valve man­age­ment and in­ter­cooled tur­bocharger to boost its power out­put to more twice that of the orig­i­nal Sprint’s 1.3-litre twin-cam en­gine.

The new 1.4-litre petrol en­gine pro­duces 110kW 250Nm of torque, and can pro­pel new Gi­uli­etta Sprint from 0-100km/h in 8.2 sec­onds and on to a top speed of 210km/h, while its com­bined-cy­cle fuel ef­fi­ciency fig­ure is 5.7L/100km.

Based the Alfa Romeo Pro­gres­sion, new Sprint also comes equipped with num­ber other fea­tures in­clud­ing 17-inch, five-hole de­sign al­loy wheels, spe­cial badg­ing on the front fender, car­bon-ef­fect door pan­els and dash­board sur­round, a sports, leather­wrapped steer­ing wheel red stitch­ing and new seats with cloth Al­can­ta­rauphol­stery, red stitch­ing “Sprint” logo em­broi­dered into the head­rests.

Sprint en­hance­ments also in­clude sports rear bumper side skirts and dark­t­inted win­dows.

The Alfa Romeo Gi­uli­etta Sprint is avail­able in lim­ited num­bers priced at $31,000.
