The Castle

Director Rob Sitch’s delightfully Australian version of The People Vs. Larry Flynt sees Darryl Kerrigan ( Michael Caton) and his bluecollar fold take on “ the system” when his “ castle” ( colloquial for home) is threatened by progress. He’ll need the help of a retired constitutional lawyer ( played by the late, great Charles “ Bud” Tingwell) if he’s to have any luck in bringing down the big boys. Exposing the idiosyncratic Aussie battler image, this wonderful, dialogue-rich gem can leave the population to rest assured knowing that families like the Kerrigans exist. A delightful surprise, that stars Stephen Curry, Anne Tenney and Eric Bana.
