Wednesday OPENING SHOT 2
Created by a range of burgeoning filmmakers 35 and under, this short film series covers some big issues. It’s not a subject many people will gladly ponder, but suicide is a cultural epidemic in Australia – a taboo subject that needs to be openly discussed. Tonight, three young suicide survivors confront the stigma by revealing why they tried to end their life and how they have turned things around. We meet Bryan, who struggled after his parents’ breakup; Becks, who was a victim of child sexual abuse; and Chris, who has grappled with depression all his life. Two suicide hotline operators also reveal what it takes to do their job.
