NINE, 10.30pm

The final season of the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation spin- off kicks off tonight, with executive producer Zachary Reiter declaring it will “take more risks and change things up for our characters”. The main storyline tonight involves the team investigating when a fire chief is killed in a blaze, but the most interesting part of this season opener is the state of Mac Taylor, who was shot in last season’s finale. Now six months later, we get an intimate glimpse into his struggle with recovery as he battles to regain his memory. Mac ( Gary Sinise, left) makes sure everyone, including girlfriend Christine ( Megan Dodds), is in the dark about something not being right.
