Season two of sophisticated and gripping Danish drama Borgen goes out with a rousing cliffhanger ending tonight. While Birgitte ( Sidse Babett Knudsen) has spent time looking after her family, her deputy Hans- Christian ( Bjarne Henriksen) has positioned himself as her successor. Birgitte is at a crossroads – while the media debates whether a female can be a successful prime minister, she is torn over her duties for her country and her family. While daughter Laura’s ( Freja Riemann) prognosis seems to be positive, psychiatrist Lisbet ( Pia Munk) warns Birgitte she can’t be a workaholic and a good mother. In a stunning move, Birgitte turns the tables on everyone.
