With the creme de la creme of Hollywood stars and an upbeat plot, viewers would be forgiven for thinking New Year’s

Eve could be the film of the year. But the talent of Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer can’t save this romantic comedy from being a major let- down. Set in New York, it revolves around a collection of people preparing for the festive holidays, who find love in the right or wrong places. The most cutesy fragment is when a New Year’s Eve hater ( Ashton Kutcher) and his perky neighbour ( Glee’s Lea Michele, pictured) get stuck in a lift. Shallow storylines make this an unfortunate waste of talent.
