There is something to be said for the beguiling Gwyneth Paltrow’s ( pictured) immersion into meaty roles. Wonderfully costumed, photographed, scored and acted, this adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel is romantic comedy in full bloom. Paltrow is both radiant and assured as the title’s impudent Cupid character and an invigorating support cast including Jeremy Northam, Toni Collette and Ewan McGregor appear to be having a ball. For a case of art imitating Gwyneth’s real- life romantic escapades, consider this just as much fun.
