Geelong Advertiser - - NEWS -

PORT Phillip Ferries’ maiden voyage along the shoreline of Corio Bay has been locked in for October 7.

The new service — between Portarlington and Geelong — has been touted as a sightseers’ dream come true.

Cruising past the Bellarine hills and vineyards, passengers will be treated to a 40-minute view from the water of Geelong’s coast.

The company is banking on high patronage from tourists visiting the Greater Geelong region.

It is believed some local businesses will factor the new ferry timetable into their schedules, with several wineries starting a shuttle bus service to pick up passengers from Portarlington pier.

The initial cruise, from 3pm to 9pm, will take patrons to the Scotchmans Hill Winery and Terindah Estate for a wineand-dine experience.

Tickets for the journey are $110.

However, regular fares between Portarlington and Geelong will cost $25 a trip.
