Tuohy and Bews might tag-team on goalsneak

-

“He’s got a good record on Eddie, so it’s probably a good idea if he goes to him.

“We’ll figure that out during the week, but we’re both happy to share the job.”

Bews and Tuohy have shared the job in recent encounters and both have been able to get the job done.

Betts kicked one goal in Round 11 and was held goalless in the Round 18 win over the Cats at Adelaide Oval.

Last season he managed three goals in two games against Geelong, taking his total to four goals in four games.

The Crows have been a dominant force this season, setting the competition alight with their high-scoring footy.

Tuohy knows the minor premier will be hard to topple at home, but the Cats can take solace in their recent record against the Crows.

Adelaide’s Round 18 win was its first against the Cats since 2013.

“They’ve clearly been the best team throughout the course of the whole year,” Tuohy said.

“I’m not sure they’ll be trying to change too much.

“It’s clearly a winning formula, so it’s up to us to try to counter their clearly terrific offence.

“We think we have a game-plan that can trouble them. But clearly it didn’t work the last time we played over there so it’s going to be tricky.”

Geelong has won three of its five games at Adelaide Oval.

Tickets for the match have sold out and a strong contingent of Geelong fans are expected to cross the border to support the Cats.

Tuohy said he was preparing for a hostile environment with Adelaide Oval producing a cauldron-like atmos- phere during sold out games.

“The atmosphere I am sure will step up from the home and away season,” he said.

“But it is still an interstate game. It’s always a hostile environment when you go away from home.

“There’s a lot of experience in this group, there’s a lot of guys who have been in hostile environments before.

“I am really enjoying the challenge. It’s going to be a big test but I can’t wait.”
