Oz tribute to victims

Geelong Advertiser - - WORLD -

AUSTRALIAN Trade Minister Steven Ciobo has told a Las Vegas memorial that Australia staunchly stands beside America in the aftermath of the recent mass-killing.

Mr Ciobo laid a wreath to honour the 58 killed when gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire on an open air concert from a suite in the Mandalay Bay casino on October 1.

“I wanted to take this opportunity while I was in Las Vegas to send a very strong and clear message — that message that Australia stands with you,” Mr Ciobo told the ceremony.

Las Vegas-based Australian group Human Nature performed the Australian and US national anthems.
