CALLING ALL MATILDAS

- — JEMMA RYAN

IF you are named Matilda, as these three local girls are, you may be able to waltz into free entry to watch Australia’s women’s soccer team, the Westfield Matildas, when they hit Kardinia Park.

It is less than two weeks until the team arrives at GMHBA Stadium and to celebrate the Addy is calling on all those who share the same name to help give them the warmest possible welcome.

Matildas of all ages from across the region are invited to welcome the players and feature with them in a group photo when they arrive in Geelong on Thursday, November 23.

The first 50 Matildas to register attendance for the photo will receive a double pass to the match in Geelong on Sunday, November 26.

The side will take on China as part of a two-game international series in Victoria. It serves as a test-run for the 2018 Asian Cup in April, which doubles as a World Cup qualifier.

Registrations close Wednesday, November 22, at noon. Participants will be notified of the time and address for the shoot via their email address.
