Addy snapper wins top gong for inspiring photos
GEELONG Advertiser photographer Alison Wynd has taken home a national photography award for her series called Young at Heart.
Wynd won the Older People Speak Out regional award for her photos depicting older Australians in a positive manner.
The week-long series featured a collection of our region’s older athletes ranging from Geelong’s oldest speedway driver to the 74year-old who took up ocean water swimming after a hip replacement and the budgie-smuggler wearing action man who shunned bowls
because at the clubhouse “the flag is always half mast”. The award was presented to Wynd at a ceremony held in Brisbane this week.
