Addy snap­per wins top gong for in­spir­ing pho­tos

GEE­LONG Ad­ver­tiser pho­tog­ra­pher Ali­son Wynd has taken home a na­tional photography award for her series called Young at Heart.

Wynd won the Older Peo­ple Speak Out re­gional award for her pho­tos de­pict­ing older Aus­tralians in a pos­i­tive man­ner.

The week-long series fea­tured a col­lec­tion of our re­gion’s older ath­letes rang­ing from Gee­long’s old­est speed­way driver to the 74year-old who took up ocean wa­ter swimming af­ter a hip re­place­ment and the budgie-smug­gler wear­ing ac­tion man who shunned bowls

be­cause at the club­house “the flag is al­ways half mast”. The award was pre­sented to Wynd at a cer­e­mony held in Bris­bane this week.
