ANIMAL rescuers couldn’t believe their eyes when they found a kitten with four ears.

Frankie, a 10-week-old domestic short hair, was rescued from under a Geelong house, and has since had an eye removed after being brought into Geelong Animal Welfare Society.

Adoptive owner Georgie Anderson said it wasn’t every day the shelter came across a four-eared, one-eyed cat.

“He came into GAWS with his brother after being found living under a house. He had a very deformed eye which required surgery to remove but he’s doing really well,” she said.

“I’ve researched it to see if it’s a genetic fault but it’s so rare there’s not much written about them.”

Frankie’s unusual appearance hasn’t bothered Mrs Anderson’s threeyear-old son Arthur (above), with the pair becoming firm friends. “They’re great together,” she said. – ERIN PEARSON
