South Gee­long sex shop raided

THE owner of a South Gee­long sex shop has been ar­rested and charged af­ter po­lice raided his store and al­legedly seized sus­pected il­licit drugs.

De­tec­tives de­scended on Naughty Gifts on Wood St late Tues­day, ar­rest­ing owner Phil Kelly.

De­tec­tive Se­nior Sergeant Rod Lloyd said a 47-year-old man from South Gee­long had since been charged with al­legedly traf­fick­ing cannabis and pos­sess­ing ec­stasy, metham­phetamine and pre­scrip­tion drugs.

“Po­lice will al­lege the drugs were be­ing traf­ficked from that busi­ness,” Sen-Sgt Lloyd said. “Cannabis was lo­cated in a garbage bag in a frozen con­di­tion along with pow­ders and cap­sules.

“He was re­manded overnight and (yes­ter­day) bailed to ap­pear at the Gee­long Mag­is­trates’ Court on March 7.”
