Driver in bother over brother
A SUSPENDED driver pretended to be his twin brother when police nabbed him behind the wheel.
On January 25, Ryan Sheldon was only two months into a six-month suspension when he was pulled over by police on Barwon Heads Rd in Armstrong Creek.
In a bid to mislead police, the 22-year-old told officers his name was Lewis Sheldon, who is his brother.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Geoff Lamb told the court the siblings were “very similar” in appearance.
In Geelong Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Ryan Sheldon pleaded guilty to driving while suspended and providing a false name to police.
The baker was fined $500 and had his licence suspended for an extra month. No conviction was recorded.
