TIME TO ASK MORE OF OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS
IT is ironic that Australians demand a higher standard of behaviour from their sporting figures than they do from elected politicians.
Corrupt politicians can do far more damage to the lives of Australians than individual sporting identities.
They are cheats on a far grander scale.
Yet time and time again, the electorate returns politicians and parties that have abused public office, thereby betraying public trust.
It’s time, I think, for Australians to get their priorities in order if there is to be a future for this nation and generations to come. Michael J Gamble, Belmont
