Bluff Point closure plea

Geraldton Guardian - - News -

Residents in Bluff Point have submitted a petition to the City of Greater Geraldton requesting that an access way on St Georges Close be closed because of security and safety issues.

The petition, signed by 76 residents, suggests returning the fence line at the eastern end of the road to a completely closed status.

According to the petition, when the access way was previously closed off there was a “remarkable” impact on the number of break-ins and the amount of suspicious activity.

In recent weeks residents have complained about several break-ins, intruders in backyards and people banging on front doors during the night.

At the ordinary council meeting on Tuesday, City councillors unanimously agreed to receive the petition and request a report from the chief executive on the access way within 60 days.
