Bag op shop week bargains at Vinnies
This week is National Op Shop Week and the St Vincent de Paul Society has encouraged Geraldton residents to update their wardrobes for a worthy cause.
During National Op Shop week, which began on August 27 and runs until September 2, discounted secondhand items will be sold at Vinnies shops to help fund emergency relief assistance across WA.
Vinnies State distribution centre manager Andrew Milne encouraged shoppers to take advantage of specials.
“Special promotions will be running in all Vinnies stores for the entire week, so the time is right to refresh your wardrobe,” he said.
“Every item sold at Vinnies generates funds for our support services and assists people experiencing disadvantage in our community.”
Vinnies is also calling for donations of women’s winter clothing to be distributed in WA stores.
Mr Milne said the added demand for emergency relief assistance had created a shortfall in stocks, most notably in women’s winter clothing.
“Despite the large number of clothing items sorted daily, there is a significant shortfall in women’s winter stock and this will have a significant impact on supplies for next year,” he said.
Donations can be handed in at the Geraldton store, at 114 Durlacher Street.
