Book characters turn out in force

Geraldton Guardian - - News -

Geraldton’s schoolchildren donned the trademark outfits of their favourite literary, film, television show and computer game characters in celebration of Book Week last week, with clear favourites including Stormtroopers, Harry Potter, the Cat in the Hat and Minecraft zombies.

Parent creativity was unleashed with paper mache, cardboard cutouts, face paint and funky designs, bringing to life both timeless and contemporary novel and screen characters.

Staff participated in the fun too, arriving at schools dressed in outfits such as Shrek’s ogre wife Fiona, Ursula from The Little Mermaid and Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings.
