Art is full steam ahead
Extraordinary giant prints will go on display at the Arts and Cultural Development Council’s community gallery this Friday for the launch of the Hard Pressed exhibition.
Hard Pressed launched in 2016 after local artist Lizzy Robinson discovered the world of steamroller printing, a process whereby designs on large-scale woodcuts are printed with a roller.
This year, more than 20 Mid West artists created giant woodcuts and 60 small boards were given out to community members.
The printing took place during the Sunshine Festival on Sunday and Monday at the Geraldton fore- shore.
The exhibition will also feature prints from Esperance, Ravens- thorpe/Hopetoun and Katherine in the Northern Territory.
Hard Pressed will be on display until October 29.
