Charges in line with crime spree

Geraldton Guardian - - Guardian News -

A 44-year-old man charged with 17 offences, including stealing a motor vehicle and driving recklessly to escape police pursuit, has been refused bail in Geraldton Magistrate’s court.

Jason Michael Hodder appeared on charges including gaining benefit by fraud, burglary, stealing, trespassing, damaging property and being the driver of a vehicle which failed to comply with a direction to stop.

All but one of the charges, which Mr Holder pleaded not guilty to, are said to have occurred between August 1-23 this year.

Magistrate Donna Webb said in essence the charges were that of an alleged crime spree. “The allegations are serious, especially in regards to the burglary and reckless driving,” she said.

Mr Hodder was remanded to appear again on November 30.
