Vigilance urged amid trespassing reports
This week Geraldton police have attended a lot of reports regarding people trespassing on private property.
Trespassing is closely associated with burglary offences and I would ask all members of the community to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious, especially during hours of darkness.
We are assisting the public with a burglary check list, ensuring simple things like not leaving valuables in view and locking windows and doors, even if leaving for a short period. These things are essential in making your property as safe and secure as possible.
We want to make it as tough for crooks as possible, so if you want some advice just pop into the Geraldton Police Station in Marine Terrace and we will assist.
A quad bike and two off-road dirt bikes have been stolen in the past seven days.
Secure your vehicles in a carport or garage and ensure you keep a record of your engine number somewhere safe. If you have seen the pictured bikes, please call the police station on 9923 4555.
We would also like to speak to the people pictured below regarding stealing offences in the Geraldton area. Anyone who knows these people should contact the station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Finally, I would like to raise an issue regarding bank cards and bank details.
Do not, under any circumstances, give your bank details to anyone, especially your bank card PIN code.
We received reports of community members being deceived on the phone or by offenders using the cards with the PIN.
It should also be noted that banks are not always liable to give a refund. Again, if it doesn’t sound right, let us know.
Police would like to speak to these people regarding stealing offences in the Geraldton area.
If you have seen these bikes, please call Geraldton Police Station on 9923 4555.
