The final round of the 2018 Batavia Bowling League’s Ladies’ pennant season had mixed results for finals-bound sides.

Table-leader and flag favourite Denison Gold were the stand-out performers with a predictable but resounding 4/0 (40/26) victory over Wonthella Maroon.

The big move came from last week’s fourth-placed Wonthella Green, who travelled to Denison to play the second-placed Denison Blue.

The visitors proved better with a season high 4/0 (53/28) victory that catapulted them to second place.

Denison dropped to third and will now have to come from the first semifinal if they are to reach the grand final.

Northampton ended Geraldton Blue’s hopes of a second semifinal appearance following their 4/0 (41/ 34) victory. The loss pushed the Blues to fourth position while the Rams’ victory saw them fall one point shy of first division finals.

The finals series is set to be played at the Denison Bowling Club. In the first division, Geraldton Gold will play Wonthella Green, with hosts Denison Blue playing Geraldton Blue in the first semifinal. In the second division second semifinal, Geraldton Gold take on Blue, with the first semi an all-Wonthella knockout affair with Gold hosting Maroon.
