Work starts on Midalia foreshore
Midalia beach and carpark will be closed for enhancement works from Monday.
The works are part of the City of Greater Geraldton’s $23.1 million Beresford Foreshore Coastal Protection and Enhancement Project, which began in January last year.
Works along the 1.8km stretch of foreshore will include landscaping as well as, building public facilities and , a playground, and replacing other amenities lost to coastal erosion.
A fence around the area was erected on Wednesday.
The beach can be accessed through gates until Monday.
The estimated date of completion of the works is the end of June.
The City has requested that people exercise caution, and obey all warning signs and directions in the area.
Community members will be able to access Midalia beach through temporary gates until Monday.
