Tai­lor have been con­sis­tent along most beaches with Drum­monds Cove, Buller River and Corona­tion pro­vid­ing plenty of ac­tion to the north whilst South­gates, Gree­nough and Fla­trocks have pro­duced steady catches south of town. Her­ring and whit­ing are about in good num­bers with bet­ter re­sults com­ing in the morn­ings. Buller River, Pages Beach and South­gates has pro­duced both yel­lowfin and sand whit­ing at times with peeled coral prawn or blood­worms be­ing the pre­ferred bait. Blue manna crabs are still go­ing strong with good hauls com­ing from the Fish­er­mans Wharf and Batavia Coast Ma­rina. Sam­son fish, es­tu­ary cod, black bream and ju­ve­nile pink snap­per have all been ac­tive around these ar­eas and can pro­vide a real chal­lenge in close quar­ters.
