Woman dies af­ter car strikes tree

A woman died and two other peo­ple are in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion af­ter a car hit a tree at Eu­rardy, near Northamp­ton and Kal­barri, on Thurs­day.

Po­lice said the 37-year-old was a pas­sen­ger in a white Mit­subishi ASX trav­el­ling south on North West Coastal High­way about 3.30pm when the crash oc­curred.

The driver, a 65-year-old woman, along with a seven-year-old boy and a six-month-old girl, were in­jured. All three were taken to Ger­ald­ton Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment and later flown by Royal Fly­ing Doc­tor Ser­vice to Royal Perth Hos­pi­tal and Perth Chil­dren’s Hos­pi­tal. The girl was later dis­charged. The driver and the boy were yes­ter­day listed as se­ri­ous but sta­ble.
